In 2019, a personal journey inspired a transformative decision for Andrew, the Founder and Director of Pink Ribbon Community Supports Australia. Witnessing his brother Duane’s incredible growth through the NDIS, Andrew was motivated to create an organisation dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities.
This is the story of how one family’s experience sparked a mission to foster independence, community engagement, and vibrant lifestyles for many on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.

“In 2019, I made a pivotal decision to transition my company into the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) sector, driven by a personal story that profoundly shaped my vision.
My younger brother Duane, who has Down syndrome, has experienced remarkable growth thanks to the NDIS. Living in Supported Disability Accommodation (SDA) with a Supported Independent Living (SIL) provider, Duane has blossomed. He now assists with teaching kids in a ‘Rockin Roll’ class and enjoys cooking independently and also works 1 day a week at a cafe. Witnessing this transformation made it clear that without the NDIS, his social life and personal development would have been limited.
Motivated by Duane’s experiences and the opportunities the NDIS presented, I founded Pink Ribbon Community Supports Australia upon its arrival in the Sunshine Coast. My mission is to create meaningful change in the lives of individuals with disabilities, providing them with the same opportunities for growth and connection that my brother has enjoyed.
I am passionate about the work we do at Pink Ribbon Community Supports Australia, where our dedicated staff make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.
