Behind every great organisation is someone with a vision for making life better. At Pink Ribbon Community Supports Australia, that person is Alyce Nankivell, our Founder and Director who started this journey back in 2016.

How It All Started

Alyce founded Pink Ribbon Community Supports Australia in 2016, and when the NDIS rolled out to the Sunshine Coast in 2019, she saw an opportunity to expand into disability support services. With her Advanced Diploma in Community Management, she had the qualifications, but more importantly, she had the passion for helping people achieve their goals.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to see our participants thrive,” Alyce says. And if you’ve met her, you’ll know she genuinely means it – her enthusiasm for what we do is infectious.

Community at Heart

Alyce isn’t just about talking community engagement… she walks the walk.

You’ll often find Pink Ribbon sponsoring local events and associations, like Gympie United FC, or Alyce turning up to support and exhibit in Sunshine Coast events such as the Sunshine Coast Disability & Seniors Expo.

She believes in putting our money where our mouth is when it comes to supporting the community that supports us.

Life Outside the Office at Pink Ribbon Community Supports Australia

When she’s not thinking about NDIS plans or participant goals, Alyce is usually chasing around after her two kids at various sporting events. If you’ve ever been a sports parent, you’ll know that’s a full-time job in itself!

She’s also got a love for music and travel, and genuinely enjoys meeting new people… which probably explains why she ended up in a people-focused business like disability support.

The Big Picture

What drives Alyce is pretty simple: she wants to create better lives for people in the NDIS by making it easier for them to access their community and build connections. It’s not rocket science, but it’s not always easy either.

Her approach is straightforward… “if we can help someone feel more connected to their community and work towards their personal goals, we’re doing our job right.”

Why This Matters

Having a founder who genuinely cares about community connection means Pink Ribbon isn’t just another NDIS provider ticking boxes. Alyce’s vision shapes everything we do, from how we match support workers with participants to how we engage with the broader Sunshine Coast & Gympie communities.

Her belief that “together, we can make a difference” isn’t just a nice slogan – it’s how we actually operate as a business.

Thank you for being part of our community.
